Evaluation

    (lyric) This song has a very deep meaning, telling about the regret of a mother who missed the process of growing up her daughter and the feelings of a mother who still wants to continue with her little daughter, she still wants to hold and remember that memories continuously.

    The lyric conveyed in this song are not only meaningful but the delivery is full of meaning and with beautiful language. As in the lyric on the beginning and end of the song that are same. "Schoolbag in hand, she leaves home in the early morning waving goodbye with an absent minded smile.", it means that the memories are the most unforgettable.

    (Vocals) In this song, the vocals are song by two women, so the message and tone are conveyed with tenderness like a mother.

    (The instrumentation) The instruments played fit perfectly with the message of the song. It is gentle but also brings a feeling of sadness. However, the volume of the instruments is a bit to low and not balanced with the vocals.

    (Quality of performance) This song was used as a soundtrack in the movie "Mamma Mia" in 2008. So the performance is very good, but the sound quality and instruments are a bit lacking, maybe because it is an old musing.

    (General Impression) is a poigant and emotional song that reflects the feelings of a parent watching their child grow up to quickly. The lyric capture a sense of time slipping away, with moments that seem fleeting and out of reach. The song evokes both a sense of  love and nostalgia, as well as the bitter sweet realization that children eventually move on and become more independent.

    (Originality) The song is used in the ABBA songs-based musical "Mamma Mia!", as well as the 2008 movie adaptation. This version was certified Silver by BPI in 2021.

My opinion/ my impression

    The lyric in this song are full of deep meaning, not just a good meaning but delivery of the message using beautiful language such as the depiction of time passing so quickly with the phrase "Sleeping through my fingers". The slow music brings both calmness and sadness. However, at the beginning of this song it seems to suddenly enter the vocal, so the listener is not ready to enjoy it.
