• What the film is about?

    The movie is based on a true story written in a book with the same title “The Good Nurse” by Charles Graeber. The story follows Amy Loughren, a single mother and nurse working in the intensive care unit (ICU) at Parkfield Memorial Hospital in New Jersey, who is suffering from cardiomyopathy, unbeknownst to anyone at the hospital, and fears dismissal. Then the hospital recruits experienced nurse Charles Cullen to help her work the night shift, and they quickly become good friends. Charles is very kind to Amy, even helping her take care of her children. However, Charles has a dark secret that no one knows about, it turns out that Charles is not as good as he seems.

• About the actors

  I was quite surprised by the acting of the cast in this movie. 

The character of Charles in this movie is played very well by Eddie Redmayne, where in one scene it is shown in detail Charles' overflowing emotions so that his face looks reddish, when questioned by detectives. No less good, Jessica Chastain's acting in playing Amy who is experiencing heart disease also deprives the audience of oxygen.

• Good Points

    Although this movie is based on a true story, the acting of the cast adds a plus. The audience is invited to see the terrible events of the past in 2 hours that are so emotionally draining. In addition, this movie also explains in detail and coherently from one event to another. In the last minutes, the facts in the field are also revealed, so that the audience can draw conclusions from the true story so clearly.

• Bad Points

    The bad side of this movie is probably the slow storyline because maybe the original story was like that too. So it seems monotonous in some scenes.

• Favorite part of the movie

    My favorite scene is when Amy tries to overcome her fear and remember Charlie's kindness, then she ventures to meet Charlie who is being held at the police station and persuades him to reveal what he has done. I like this scene because Amy managed to defeat her ego and dare to speak from the heart for all the good things Charlie had done to her, Amy still considered him a friend. She proved that even though Charlie did bad things, he also did good things too.

• Overall opinion

    Watching this movie makes my heart rate increase, when Amy is close to Charlie. Because of what she had done, I was afraid that something bad would happen to Amy. In addition, this movie makes us realize that bad things must be prevented immediately and not left unchecked. If not, then people like Charlie will continue to commit their crimes. This film is quite good as a film based on a true story, the acting of the players adds flavor to this film, but the slow storyline also makes some scenes seem monotonous and less interesting.
